Wow! That is really damn hot. And that is the processor temp? Are you in a room that is very warm? As what is the ambient temp in the room?
Is the CPU or GPU powering everything off or at least under clocking at 96°C? If not, it should be soon afterward I would think.
It sounds like a hair dryer mating with a cat.
This machine had the motherboard replaced previously under American
Express extended warranty. It's too much trouble to send it back. I need
to fix this myself.
I can rotate all four latches but one will not release.
When I try to pull the fan off I can see the mother board flex beside
the stuck latch.

I can't help you with the latch, but I am curious what you are going to clean the old paste and replace it with? You do know you are not suppose to touch the clean parts with your fingers right?
