right, that's the $1999 imac configuration. a lot more beautiful than
a inspiron 570 and also a lot more expensive. who will have more
problems down the road? who knows. but the bottom line is that they
are both just computers and they both have mediocre support. i do
suggest that you keep up with the apple care warranty on that imac as
another big distinction between apple and dell is the availability and
cost of service parts. since there are so many fewer imacs than pcs,
and so many parts are propriatary in the imacs, service parts are very
expensive. should you have a problem out of warranty that is other
than the hard disk it often is cheaper to buy new than repair... which
brings us full circle to your original complaint about the quality of
a mouse that appears unlikely to last many years, but which also
happens to be so inexpensive that you can replace it every year and
still come out ahead of the cost of a one that had a superior build
quality. good luck.
Again, we agree, but I was pricing an XPS 8100, not an Inspiron 570.
You were PRICING an XPS 8100. Did you ever buy one? How do you know its product quality vs the Apple box? Consistency??? No... Ben Myers
