@4ax.com:
I know I've seen this posted before tho it's been quite a while ago
and then I paid no attention. Now I'm thinking of changing from a
paid NSP (Giganews) to a free one. I don't need binaries, just text
and retention isn't that important to me if it's reasonable (maybe a
couple months). My isp doesn't offer usenet so I'm looking for
suggestions for a decent free text only newsgroup provider. I still
want tho to access it thru forte agent since I'm comfortable reading
usenet that way.
Suggestions?
ps-- this isn't meant to be a slam against Giganews at all. Theyve
been nothing but a class act thru out my years with them even when
someone somehow stole my password. They somehow knew it wasn't me and
froze my usenet access to allow me to change my password without
compromising my download statistics. As I said, a "class act". I
would not hesitate to recommend them in a heart beat. And I will miss
them if I move on but I decided that next year my needs are changing
and it's time for me to re-prioritize expenses as a result. Actually
I'm thinking of using that money for a on line backup service instead.
I plan to use external drives with on line backups, I think.
eternal-september.org
be more reliable than aioe.org, which is another good free one.
Thank you Pen !!!!
