Hi!
The vendor says to use Nero instead of CDBurnXP, as that's
for burning ISO images.
The vendor does not understand what CDBurnerXP is for. CDBurnerXP will
happily burn both ISO images and data or audio compilations that you
make from within its user interface.
A little explanation:
ISO files are files that contain the entire contents of a CD, or
instructions and data which can be read by burning software to produce
a certain type of disc. You can use them when you want to prepare a CD
for mass distribution or let someone else do the burning. A good
example of this would be various Linux distributions. Those are
usually downloaded as ISO files that a user can burn to disc. In this
way, the user does not have to worry about too many settings, as the
ISO file will set things up the right way and put the data on the disc
the way its authors intended.
You can also make ISO files from existing CDs.
In simple terms, ISO files are disc images.
Nearly all CD burning software packages can handle ISO files,
including both Nero and CDBurnerXP.
However, both those programs take it a bit further by letting you make
your own discs from selected files on your computer. You have complete
control over the settings, what files are placed on the disc and
various other attributes that adjust how the disc will be formatted
and created. When you are done, you can burn the disc as the settings
dicate.
