I would say you should look at the context. But regardless most
people should be very cautious about clicking on a link.
Earlier today I posted a response to a posting here and I placed a
link to PCMag.com which is a reputable site. And I included some
accompanying text that went along with it.
On my desktop and notebook I don't use any AV software and have not
gotten any viruses or malware for years. But about a month ago or so
I was searching for some (developer) source code for a very specific
hardware application. I googled it and went to a website that somehow
tricked me and I started getting popups. I don't know how it happened
but it did.
