I use a Inspiron 8600 lap top in a docking station.

I leave the lap top docked almost all the time, and use a flat screen
monitor. All my USB components are plugged in to the docking station.

Over the past few weeks, I notice that when I turn on the computer by
pressing the power button on the docking station, I get a black
screen. It hangs up on start up.

I can usually power it down, (by holding in the power button for a few
seconds), then re-start. It almost always starts up then, (not
always).

I have not made ANY changes to my system at all. None.

Anyone have any thoughts on how to resolve this??

If it's predictable/reproduceable, then begin unplugging external devices
one at a time and testing after each.
