I'm not sure how to defend myself, because I do not know who or what I
am dealing with.  A person requires one sort of response, e.g. PLONK..  A
computer activated automaton that belches out accusatory phrases is
something I have not ever encountered.  And I have no idea what to
defend AGAINST.  This thread has gone on a wild irrational tangent,
impossible to get back on track.  Maybe it should be moved to the Asus
eee PC newsgroup, to share the wisdom... Ben Myers

And I don't see, at all, why it went this way? Now I'm
sorry for getting engaged in the first place, it seems
a bit as if this ugliness was triggered by that.

Bill: were all the heavy words ("liar," "your type" and
many more) necessary? I appreciate your arguments,
point of view, and all that, but why all those personal
qualifications? (I mean even if you were *completely*
right and the other side had no clue what they were
saying.)

Even without the question of whether you really 'know
the man,' even if there is some old 'feud' or something
going, it still was very inappropriate. I *have no idea*
what had gone before, but this was completely out of
place for a public forum. (As for a private communication,
this is your business, how you conduct it.) Come on, you
can make your points, stand -- explain "the truth" if you
will -- without getting personal, yes? (The way you put
forth your arguments with me was quite OK, so you can.)

I am always sorry when I see things degrade this way.
