What is the diff between the T and R series?

Good question -- I don't know, other than the T's seem thinner and
lighter.

Paste this into Google:

"Lenovo Thinkpad T series vs. R series"

and you will get lots of results.

The R series might be a way to save some money, but definitely Google
around until you understand the differences, and check out the options
offered for each series (fingerprint reader, etc.).

Unlike most people, I don't like wide screens. I'd rather have a
standard aspect display that shows more verticle resolution. The T
series has a standard aspect T61 which is what I have. Great laptop.
