So what happens if we get the monitor, and it is defective? Will we
have to pay for the return shipping when doing the exchange?

You have chosen to not include a dedicated graphics card. Is this by choice, or have you made a mistake? I would absolutely want at least a 128 MB card in that machine. I have basically the same unit, an Inspiron 530, with nearly the same hardware you have chosen. But I got mine with a 128 MB ATI graphics card. I certainly suggest a dedicated video card.
