why don't you completely detail what make/model/size memory you atempted to
install in your dimension 1100 desktop and what error message you received.
i suspect that you may have purchased a high density pc3200 module that is
not compatible with your machine. the dimension 1100 shipped with either
pc2700 or pc3200 modules and though some pc3200 modules are compatible not
all are (as you have seen). what *exactly* did you buy and have trouble
with?

I have a Dell Dimension 1100 Desktop/PC I did a scan on Cruical and
it said it uses PC3200 yet the stick says PC3200U. I tried the PC3200
sticks and it won't work. Does something have to be done to fix this
or do I have to search for PC3200U sticks?
.
