Re: can inspiron 1525 run windows xp?

Yes, so what the OP needs to do is determine the manufacturers of the chipsets
in the Inspiron 1525, then go to the manufacturers' web sites to find and
download the drivers.

I admit to not having seen all the recent motherboard chipsets, especially ones
that support AMD CPUs, but all the ones I have seen do have XP drivers. Same
with standard Intel, ATI, or nVidia video, Intel, Realtek (rarely used by Dell),
Atheros and Broadcom network, and mostly ADI 198x audio... Ben Myers

does anyone know if I can substitute drivers from another model?
thanks jay

Jay, I'm not 100% certain but I think the E1505 is similar so I would
think you could use its drivers for xp. Google around and see if I'm
right then go for it <g>.

Dell now use standard parts, even PSU's in the desktops are standard, so the
chipset drivers will be the same on other laptops, as will the modem, nic
card , lan, and video they will all be used on another machine
.
