Thanks Chris. I realize an access point should work if a router does
but the router adds more firewall protection to her system. I'm a
little paranoid right now after discovering I had some open ports and
it was an all day affair to close them for me. To be honest, I know
what I did to close them but I'm not sure why it worked but I'll save
that for another thread.

I guess I'll deal with my daughter's wireless network when the time
comes.
