Let us know how your experience with SP1 goes (both installation and
first impressions compared to pre SP1). thanks.

I think I am going to go back to XP on my D520 laptop. I had done an
in-place upgrade from Vista Business to Ultimate and there are a few
problems from that. My sound (Sigmatel) isn't working, and whenever I
do a restart my mouse settings revert back to defaults.

While I am sure that I can resolve those problems, I might as well put
my time and energy into installing XP on the laptop instead. I know
what works on XP, and I have a lot of utilities that I haven't used on
Vista that I know work on XP.

I consider going from Vista Ultimate to XP Pro an upgrade. Yes, I
have flip-flopped on Vista. For the most part my apps ran on it well
and it was stable, but it's the little nagging things that added up. I
am glad that I experienced it, so I know what it's all about, but it's
time to go back to the superior OS -- XP.

I do wonder what MS is going to do from this point on, and I would
hate to be a Vista product manager at a large corporation.
