And these days, I try to email PDFs rather than send faxes. But, still, some
people insist on an "official" fax, still very much recognized as THE legal way
to send signed legal documents electronically... Ben Myers

Mel,.
I've used eFax since way back when. For a while it was free. Then my wife
sent a bunch of faxes, and they now charge me $10/month ($120/yr prepaid) It's
worth the money compared to a separate fax line and fax machine. I scan the
occasional documents that need to be signed and faxed, convert to PDF and fax
them out.
eFax also helps me in my work when a client needs to set up a fax machine. I
can log onto my web mail and both send and receive faxes to their machine,
confirming that it all works OK.
I haven't had the time to investigate whether there are less expensive but still
viable alternatives in our rapidly changing world... Ben Myers

Perhaps some web-site where I can upload a document and have it sent?
Why not just email a PDF?
If it has to be a fax, check out www.efax.com.
