The warranty shown for a newly bought refurbished
Vostro laptop is wildly less than a year, as if
they hadn't updated it from the former purchaser's
date.
You might check yours by logging the system on the
Dell My system and peripherals page.
You don't get the same warranty a new unit ships with. If there is
anything
left of the standard warranty, you get that. And, I believe Dell also
gives
a thirty day warranty on Dell Outlet units. I purchased a system off
the
Outlet that had originally shipped out with a three year warranty. I
did
not get that warranty. That was a $250 (approximate) value. The
original
buyer, when returning the unit, gets their money back and the
of
the standard warranty applies to the unit now offered on the Dell
Outlet
site.
Sorry but this is just wrong. The warranty has NOTHING to do with the
original purchaser. You get the warranty you pay for from the outlet,
starting the day the machine is invoiced (or shipped, can't remember
which).
If the original owners warranty hangs around you just have to get Dell
to clean up the mess. s
