Okay, my XPS deal fell through :(
I did buy a perfect looking 600m for $240.00 to play with and I can
always sell it to my brother.
I'm considering the following, both are $400.00.
Let's say all things being equal -
2.0 Core2 Duo
1 or 2 gig ram, etc
9400 (E1705)
E1505
I haven't had my hands on these, but have read a lot and have the
opportunity for either.
Suggestions? Since I haven't had my hands on a 17", I wonder if
it would be too big.
Thanks
There is no way to give you a good suggestion because you haven't
indicated how you will use the laptop and what your criteria
priorities are.
I can say though:
- The 600m is a great laptop, esp. because you can add a second
battery through the modular bay.
- For portability as in carring it around at school or business the
17" is too big. For portability moving it from a desk to the living
room with a power supply in each location, the 17" would be a great
size, esp. because you could use remote desktop to connect to other
computers. That would make it useful even after it becomes
technogically obsolete in other ways.
For portability I use a 13" Mac Book and a 12" standard aspect Lenovo
X61 ThinkPad. I wouldn't go any higher.
(I am selling my fairly loaded XPS M1210 for a good price -- I price
to sell -- if anyone's interested because I don't need the extra
laptop. I drove it only on Sunday's :-)
