Would I get more bang for my buck with a NEW or a REFURBISHED PC?
Also....
Refurbished IMHO. I've had refurbished computers (towers) and LCD monitors. Only thing that didn't look factory fresh was the VGA cable with a 2007WFP bought about a year ago. My first Dell, an XPSB866r, bought in 05/2000, and the XPS700 Build Your Own, bought 09/2006, were the only Dells I've bought new. Refurbs include a Dim4550, Dim3000, Dim8400 and XPS410. They were all terrific machines. You need to do some research to determine what features are deal makers/breakers and watch the Outlet site. When you see a desirable config at a good price, jump on it! If you hesitate odds are good someone else will grab it.

Lot of controversy here - as for me, I'd take XP if it were available (and I downgraded Vista Business to XP Pro on the ThinkPad I bought last summer).
