I too experienced the inaccurate colors on my 22" Dell monitor. The greys
were pinkish in color. It really made things look bad. Took the monitor
back thinking it was maybe just a defect. Second monitor did the exact
same thing. I put two of my other LCD monitors on and they looked fine. I
just took the 22" monitor back. I wish it would have been better, I really
liked the bigger screen.
Supposedly the 2208WFP has a feature called 'Dell True Color.'
According to Dell, this means..."Richer, life-like imagery that has accurate
color representation better tones and hues. Reds, greens and blues are
deeper and more vibrant." I have noticed at some websites that reds and
blues are more pronounced.
I've tinkered relentlessly with the Contrast and Brightness settings
(currently 47 and 68) on the 2208WFP, and have a decent picture quality now.
Nothing sensational, but good enough. I tried the Sharpness option, but
that made colors too faded. I went back to the default, 50.
