i would not buy that!
the spec calls for "128Meg x 64" in the 1gb config
and his is "128x4 X 2" whatever that means
then check out the feedback, i dont like what i see in the writeup or
the feedback...

there is no real picture of the dimm you are buying
and there is no real brand mentioned.
he keeps his identity private.
the more respectable sellers on ebay show you the dimm label close up.
i would never trust that, his warranty is worthless.
and if the chip works when you get it, it may not last.
you cannot return anything without giving him positive feedback first.
I agree with you. I personally don't think it's worth all the trouble
(ebay and compatibility) but it is his wish to experiment so I can
understand his motives. I guess from my past experiences, I outgrew
the "experiment" phase of my pc life <g>.
Gosh, guys.........
I think we're collectively over-thinking this one. Matching even used memory
to this particular model is a pretty straight-up proposition once the specs
are known (which they've appeared in this thread eleventy billion times.)
I'm not sure how this thread got to be so enormous given the fact that I've
never had an 8300 spit any RAM back at me........ever.
I suppose it was the entire "density" issue (which isn't an issue).
