Also, make sure all the rubber feet are still in place.
If some of the rubber feet have come off, the laptop will not have enough
clearance for proper air flow.

try cleaning it.... the fins are dirty and not enough air is getting thru.
this happens as notebooks get older.
use compressed air.
be careful not to supply so much force that the fans spin and break.
