allowed to do, however if i try and burn it to an ordinary dvd no matter
which writer i use the disk always ends up as a coaster with the "illegal
disk" failed error, however if i burn to a RW dvd it burns ok, now one
would think it's a media fault, but no that burns other stuff ok, it
might br DRM but ultimate allows you to make a back up copy (i made an
ISO as well and tried that but just the same) so now I'm totally baffled
Are you making sure that the disk you are burning is finalized so that no
further burns may be made to it? This sounds like there could be an issue
with the burning utility that is being used to create your OS backup. In
addition, this is usually a one-time only process. I have seen this fail
on other computers. A couple of Compaq's and a Toshiba come to mind.
