Hi!
The Lenovo didn't come with a Vista Ultimate disk either, so I don't
know what I am supposed to do ... burn one from the ThinkPad, or so
ThinkPads not need the actual Vista Ultimate disk for some reason?
No need to answer the last question -- it will be one of the first
questions I ask when I find the appropriate newsgroup.
Why don't I try anyway?
I think you might find what you're looking for on the "anytime upgrade"
CD.
It's been a while since I looked, but I think that doubles as your install
CD.
My own 3000 series N100 has a second partition on the hard drive that
might
also be used for this.

My N100 came with the one-time start menu "create restore discs" option
(which I did, (2) DVDs). I've not inspected them thoroughly, but I expect
they comprise a complete factory image (with proprietary apps, etc).
Mine also has a nearly 40gb partition that (I believe) consists of a
complete factory image as well as periodic back ups. When you use the
hotkey combination for a restore, you're given the option to restore a
backup or the complete factory image.....
The machine did not like the original Lenovo factory (Vista) image, even
with 2gb RAM.
