Hi!
A friend of mine has a problem with an Inspiron 8000 Notebook.
When running under 100% CPU load, the fan starts to run and stop
irratically and then suddenly the notebook switches off without any prior
warning.
When applying a hairdryer fan at "cold" setting to the keyboard, the
system does not shutdown, so it seems to be a temperature thing.
So a normal thermic problem, you woud say. Only that the air coming out of
the notebooks "exhaust grids" is just lukewarm, not nearly as hot as the
air coming out of my own notebook (Thinkpad).
Is this a known problem with this model? Any hints, what this might be?
Thanks for your support!
Best regards,
Martin
Yes sir. Known issue.
Short response: download and use the following to monitor and control the
fans from Windows. Have a good read first:
