I had a similar problem a while ago, luckily found the answer in a
magazine (Computer Shopper, UK).
The reason is too long to copy here but the solution was:
Go to Control Panel and make sure you are in Category View, then go to My
Network Places and in the left-hand panel select the `Hide UPnP icons`
task followed by Yes in the next window. `Hide...` changes to `Show...`
and that`s it. Worked for me after reboot, good luck. Oh, this is for
WinXP SP2.
