Indeed.

You know what I label? All of the AC converters/chargers that my kids
leave around the house, and the numerous USB cables I have for MP3
players, phones, Palms, cameras, etc. If it can be labeled, I label it.

I'll also label both ends of any cable that is attached to a pc, so that
when I pull it, I know exactly what it is without following it back to
the device. I suspect we all do this.

Before I got my XPS 410 I had labelled very few things, and ended up
paying the price in terms of extra time and frustration. When I got
my XPS 410 I did label both ends of any cable and it's a lot easier to
move things around.

I still have a lot of "legacy" cables and AC adapters that don't have
labels on them. The ones that concern me the most are some of my USB
cables, because some of them may be pre-USB 2.0 so would cause
problems with a USB 2.0 device. One of these days I am going to go
through and organize all of it.

Before my XPS 410 I had a huge tangle of cables -- possibly even a
fire hazard. Having about 8-10 external USB 2.0 hard drives didn't
help! I ended up buying a plastic shelving unit and putting it off to
the side of my computer desk, and the AC adapters for the external
drives went up to the top shelf and that moved a lot of the cables out
of the way. I used the plastic cinch-thingys (technical term) to help
organize them.

SAFETY NOTE: Turn off your ceiling fan if moving things to the top
shelf! I forgot to do that, and was moving my AC adapters to the top
shelf as I stood on a step stool. All of a sudden, WHAM!, and the
next thing I knew I was laying on the floor in a daze wondering what
happened. Not fun.
