Money is a very relative thing. For some $325 is almost nothing,
although yes -- spending that money on an upgrade to a 1405 would
be
ridiculous considering that money would be wasted more
intelligently
by purchasing a high end XPS M1330.

Except I didn't like the M1330 -- like the 1405 much better.

I also don't like it although I haven't seen one in person. The
remote control feature seems hokey (for lack of a better term). I
would rather just have a nice black or silver sturdy cover, not a
painted one. I saw a video of the product manager introducing the
laptop and he spent a lot of time talking about how nice the finish
is
on the laptop lid. Oh please, save it for your boat, not a laptop!
In
order to get that finish, he said they needed to put 5 coats of white
paint on it. I think he's spent too much time looking at catalogs of
toys for executives who buy cheap novelties rather than
well-engineered tools.

Journey, are you agreeing with Tom, is the E1405 better or worst?

My bad. I have the 1420, not the 1405. The thread threw me :)

That's okay Tom. I just apologized to you in another thread for
misplacing my reply to the OP and putting it under your reply.
Therefore my bad too <grin>.
