Re: Dell gives trialware the heave-ho

Whichever way so-called optional trialware is placed on a system for delivery to
the customer, you can bet that it will be mindlessly simple for the production
line drones to manage out there on the Pacific Rim. Anything else drives up
the final sale price, and people want the cheapest price so that's what the
industry gives them, absent any bells and whistles... Ben Myers

Do you think trialware is here to stay? Really, the easiest thing to do is to
uninstall what you don't want followed by a registry and junk file cleanup with
CCleaner. Doesn't take long at all compared to reinstalling from scratch.

I do not like trialware to be installed. I'd rather have a clean,
fresh system than a system that had McAfee installed and removed.
Sure, CCleaner and NTRegopt can help clean up a system but I just
don't want it on there in the first place.

Dell could create some kind of way for a person to choose what, if
any, trialware is installed.

Perhaps the simplest would be to have the trial version installs in a
folder on the Desktop in which the user could go into them and run a
setup.

Dell could provide a document explaining the trialware that can be
installed, or a program that would enable the user to pick the
trialware which would basically then just run the setup.
