Hi!
Can't tell you specifically why it's happened, but I have seen it - though
rarely.
That's enough to improve my day.
If you'll search the web, you should find some small utilities out there
that will do either.
Have you got some good ones in mind or that come to mind? The last thing I
want is to find a bad one, and I've never used software like this outside of
LSPFix from CEXX.
Beyond that, if you have an extra PCI NIC lying around, throw it in andsee
if you get any different result.
This being a laptop, it has two NICs. One wired, the other wireless. I tried
a Cardbus card for grins and giggles. It made no difference. Even the
IP-over-Firewire adapter is busticated. All of them show up with a diamond
icon in the Device Manager and their category is "Unknown". Windows claims
it cannot start any of the drivers, which I find more than a little odd.
