Hi,
Could these sites help?
http://www.sysinfo.org/startupinfo.html

That's what I meant by limiting my startup stuff. Still probably too much crap loads.
You know, maybe someone can post a list of common startup items that load but are totally unecessary!

90 seconds; not a big deal). I've tried to limit my startup stuff (but a lot
of the items that startup are foreign to me and even a google search doesn't
always convey whether or not I should allow it to start up). I like
WinPatrol as that allows me to add some startup items after say a 2-minute
delay.
But I digress, so let me get to my question:
My desktop is cluttered (about 40 items). I don't mind; it's fine for my
use. However, my daughter said that with her MAC she was advised to have a
desktop folder (call it desktop) and to put all her folders in that.
So, if I create a desktop folder and put all my current disktop folders in
that, will it speed up my boot (if yes, will it be significant)? My guess is
it would not be significant.
What do you folks think?

I dn't think that will do a blessed thing for ya.
Go to RUN and type msconfig. Theres ussally allot of crap you can
turn off that is loading at startup. I've found this to make the most
impact for starting up delays.
good luck! :)
