My 42" LCD HDTV acts as a PC Monitor with its VGA connection, at 1920
x 1080. All fine and good, but who wants to be 6 feet away from a
monitor that large hooked up to it with a VGA cable?
Well, there is a good solution.
I connect the monitor up to my laptop's VGA out, make the LCD TV the
primary display for the laptop, and use a 2.4Ghz laptop / touchpad
combo keyboard which connects to the laptop wirelessly via USB so that
I can control the laptop's keyboard and touchpad from anywhere in my
living room.
This is one product:

I am sure there are others. In the Amazon reviews, a lot of users
aren't aware that the keyboard goes to sleep to conserve battery power
and all that needs to be done to wake it is to hit the enter key
twice.
I had purchased a 10' VGA cable but discovered that this wireless
keyboard is a better solution.
