I ran 'memtest' and got a load of red errors, does that guarentee
its the RAM? or could a messed up motherboard cause memtest to show
errors on RAM which is ok?. I think I will just order a stick from
crucial and just return it to them if it makes no difference. Thanks
for the link
I'm only vaguely familiar with memtest as I don't use it very often.
I can tell you that if you run the Dell diagnostics and it flags the RAM,
then that is (as an estimate) almost always indicative of bad RAM, which
would be very good news.
Not a bad idea to order from Crucial and try a new SODIMM. If you need to
return it they're first class/top notch, and if it works it's guaranteed for
life.
