Sounds fried.
power off and back on and try to connect just two devices to see if it
works. could be a bad cable or a bad device attached but it is far more
likely that the unit itself has died. i can't recall if this model has a
fan or not, but it it does, and if it is silent then you can bet it has
overheated.

It works if I put it in the fridge for a while. It stops when it warms
up.
There's no fan in it (nor does it seem all that hot) but must be marginal.

I'll just buy another one. Nobody can afford to screw with tech support
on hold.

Let me put in my observation though that this model sucks, apparently.

On the internet, nobody knows you're a jerk.

i think that is the right thing to do.
it is probbaly worth shooting an email to tech support with the purchase
date, model, serial number, your shipping address and the symptoms.
it may take some time to get a response but you will eventually get a
replacement with little of your own time wasted on it. of course it will
mean considerable down time hence the suggestion to buy a replacement unit.
buying a replacement takes seconds and will be in your hands in a day or two
(newegg is amazing). good luck.

here's where to begin their email support process...

i suggest that you don't tell them that you put it in a freezer... freezer
means potential condensensation which means water on the circuit board.
water and electronics are not a good combination.
