Well, I guess I need to be prepared for more and more calls from noobs as time

I wonder if Vista's search being enabled is a reason why MS had to say
that Vista isn't necessarily faster than XP.
I seem to remember that an aim of MS was to make Vista the same or
faster than XP. (although I wasn't part of the pre-Vista testing so I
may be wrong about that).
This also could explain why I find Vista faster than XP, because maybe
Vista is faster if the search is disabled (which was one of the first
things I did). Of course, MS probably wouldn't want to admit that.
On my 640m with 2G RAM, Vista is noticeably faster.
