Don't forget you can do a clean install with an XP Pro upgrade disk.

you can use a system with xp home in a networked environment. you
just
can't log on directly to a windows server.
there are xp pro upgrade edition cds, but generally it is believed
that
the
only reliable way to install pro is to install from scratch (followed

reloading drivers, windows updates, all of your applications, and

data).
