Either a PCI parallel card or a USB-parallel cable will do it. The
USB-parallel cable has a USB connector for the computer and a D-shell Centronics
connector on the other end. I have set up computers with both. Let cost be
your guide, although the setup with a card is a little bit easier. The 4P uses
a vanilla version of HP Printer Control Language (PCL), so it is not fussy like
other HP printers. It does not have a slot for an internal network card, but
an external HP JetDirect box will allow you to connect it to a network... Ben

Got my new Dell E520 system today and want to hook up my old trusty.

parallel port on the back. For former tech wizards and now dummies, what's
the best way to do it?
