Re: Operating system.....why can`t I revert to XP from Vista...Bios Lock?

It all depends on which version of XP you are installing. The earliest versions
including SP1 (I think) do not include SATA drivers. The latest SP2a does
include SATA drivers and installing it is a no-brainer on a system with SATA
drives.

If you install from an earlier version of Windows, you need to have a
***FLOPPY*** diskette with the SATA drivers on it, in unzipped format. This may
prove to be a real challenge for a system without a floppy drive. Clever these
Micro$oft folk, aren't they? On one hand, they tout legacy-free systems
without floppies, parallel, serial and PS/2 ports. On the other hand, they
require us to use a legacy floppy drive (and nothing else will do!) to install
Windows on SATA drives.

You might succeed by slipstreaming the SATA drives and building a new Windows
install CD, a topic too complicated to explain in 25 words or less... Ben Myers

where it finds Windows install. Both computers get a Blue screen error about
hardware changes and that you may have a virus.I am at a loss to figure out
why.Do I need to use the driver disk to format the drive? Or do I have to
spring for a new hard drive?.What would you suggest trying.I would
