XP actually takes up more disk space now than when it came out. I did a clean
install of original XP on an HP notebook, and it took about 2.5GB of disk space.
After all the updates were applied, it took nearly 5GB, AFTER I did a disk
cleanup AND ran CCleaner to remove all the crap.
Buy a USB 2.0 card to add more USB ports. A 4-port card is cheap and works
more reliably than a USB hub... Ben Myers

I just received my Vista upgrade for my computer which is a Dell
Dimension E521, with AMD 64 processor and about 512K of memory.
Do you or anybody have the same computer and did you encounter any
problems after installation?
I was told to install the 32 bit version.

250GB disc upgrade, 1 DVD Rom, 1 DVD-+RW and the ATI Radeon X1300
Pro w/256mb. But DELL installed the 4600+ for the same cost as the
4400+. I also upgraded to a 2007WFP. For the most part I love it.
Vista takes up way to much disc space, but so did XP when it came
out. If I had been thinking clearly I would have had DELL install
the PS/2 keyboard/&/Mouse plugins thus freeing up one of the USB ports.
The system needs more than 4 USB ports. I don't care if you can
daisy chain the damn things. You need more. Plus a Firewire card
would have been nice.
But for your system, upgrade the memory to 2GBs and make certain
that the video card has the horse power as well.
