Hi All-
My Old Inspiron 4000 just stopped recognizing mini pc cards. (PCMCIA)
The wireless G card that I had in there worked one day and was totally
dead the next. Replacing the wireless card did nothing and Windows
shows no card in the slot. Switching between the slots also does not
help.
In device manager when I click on PCMCIA I see two entries--both say
Texas Instruments PCI-1420 Card Bus controller. Both say that the
device is working properly. I assume there are two because there are
two mini-pc slots. I tried "refreshing" both in device manager with no
results. Cards remain totally inoperative, no power and are not
recognized.
Can this be a driver issue? Could something have been corrupted? Or
is it more likely some sort of hardware. broken connection issue?
Thanks for any idea anyone can provide.

USB 1.0 and all the wireless cards I see out there require USB 2.0
Jim
Actually now that I look, I see that most cards will work with 1.1 and
some with USB 1.0 --this could do the trick--Thanks
.
