Everytime I place an order it seems to somehow get cancelled. I first
tried
ordering online on July 4th. Within 24 hours the order was somehow
canceled. Was for an XPS 400. Tried placing the order again on the 5th
for
the same computer and configuration, seemed to go well, got the
confirmation
etc. Order was mysteriously canceled within 24 hours. Tried once again
orderthe 6th but this time ordered what I REALLY wanted, an XPS 700. You
guessed
it, ordered was cancelled. I decided to give it one last try but this
time
I actually called in and placed the order - XPS 700 again. Have been
checking back daily and up until yesterday evening at 7:00PM CST my
money?was still in Pre Production. I checked again just a few minutes ago
and....
CANCELLED!
I give up on Dell. It appears as if they do not want or need my money.
Can someone please recommend another custom built PC manufacturer that
builds high end computers? Heck with the final configuration that I put
together on the XPS 700 the cost was close to $7k. (A fool and his
consideringLOL)
Anyway I want a high end gaming machine with all the bells and whistles.
I'm
willing to spend somewhere in the neighborhood of $7k. I was
Alienware, but no-go there since Alien is a subsidary of Dell.
Has anyone had any experience with Digital Storm computers?

Thanks,
Kevin
Did you ever contact them to ask WHY?
Normally this is a declined credit card.
Tom
Hi Tom,
Yes as a matter of fact I did. When I first ordered, I put the system on my
Discover card which has a $10k limit and currently has a $0 balance. When
the order was cancelled I thought that maybe there was a problem with the
card since it's been inactive for 6+ months. Discover told me that
everything was OK as far as they were concerned.
The 2nd through the last attempt was on a Dell Preferred Credit account
which I applied for and received on my 2nd attempt. Credit Limit was $7k.
On my last order attempt when I called and talked to a salesperson, I
inquired about the Dell credit account to insure there were no problems.
The salesman checked and assured me the account was clean. Realizing that
Dell and Dell credit are two separate entities, I called Dell credit and
they assured me there was nothing wrong with the account.
As much as I would like to purchase another Dell system, it's just too
darned hard to accomplish. I evidently don't know the secret handshake or
something.
This time I will not call and inquire as to what happened I believe that I'm
just going to let it die.I will call and cancel my Dell Preferred Credit
account though...
