I had been to the Broadcom site. I tried using the driver multiple times
with no success. I finally downloaded one more time and then went through
highlighting the failing device in Device Manager and chose Update Driver
and it worked.
See my other post regarding card availability. I appreciate the offer and if
I wasn't so compelled to get working today I would have probably already
placed an order with an online supplier. Issue was trying to find one
carried by CompUSA, Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. that would work. Only found
1 card (D-Link DGE-530T) that supported it carried by any of them. Non of
the LinkSys, NetXtreme, etc.models carried in those stores were on the HCL
or had drivers provided online by the vendor. Couldn't find anyone that
carried Intel NIC cards locally.

I've got a pile of Intel NICs, all pulled from working systems. $10 +
shipping
and one is yours. Guaranteed Win 2K3 server support. Not sure about
the
other brands, but check the manufacturer's web site for whatever NIC you
buy.
While you're at it, check the Broadcom web site to see if Broadcom
released
drivers for Win 2k3 server. Broadcom may have, and Dell may have chosen
not to
have them on its web site. It's worth a look... Ben

Since the Broadcom 4401 apparently has no drivers for Win 2K3 Server,
why
not
drop in an Intel NIC with 82557, 82559, or 82562 ??? These adapters
all
have
drivers that work with Win 2000, Win XP or Win 2K3 Server, and they are
plentiful, cheap, and reliable.
As for the Dimension 2400 built-in audio, I suspect that you have to
forego it
on a server.
What kinda printer? If it's an inkjet, you may have serious
difficulties
finding true Win 2K3 Server drivers for it. HP develops its inkjet
drivers
primarily for desktop systems, and I suspect the others may do the same.
None
of these companies ever envisioned a cheaper inkjet printer being
attached
to a

I have successfully installed Windows Server 2003 on a Dell

locate a NIC Driver for the integral Broadcom 4401 Network Card. I
visited BroadCom's site. They clearly state that users should visit

OEM site (Dell's in this case). Dell doesn't have one posted

they don't distribute 2400's with Windows Server 2003. So.....

BroadCom's site, but couldn't get my installation to recognize it.
what did you do for chipset support? nothing? other than the
integrated broadcom nic are there any other red x's in the hardware

the adapter is a broadcom 440x 10/100 integrated nic. it is
considered
to be on the pci bus.
not surprised that the nic or audio is not working without the
chipset
support, and suspect that the video and usb is also not right.
i would try a visit to intel and try to locate chipset drivers for
the
845gv chipset. might solve all your problems. i would not feel good
about running a windows os without it, particularly for a server
(unless
it is just a test machine)...
