Explanation of error message?



I own a new Dell E510 desktop PC, running XP Home SP2, DSL connection.
Outlook
Express 6 SP2 is my email and newsgroup program, and Firefox 1.5.0.4 is my
web browser.

I have posted the following problem on other forums, but the
suggestions given to me didn't resolve the issue. I'd like to try this
forum. I accidentally noticed a strange glitch when using Firefox, and here
is one way it is replicated:

1) Firefox is launched
2) I go to Google.com (or Yahoo.com, or msn.com) and click Images
3) I type in some keywords and click Search
4) Several photos are displayed corresponding to my search terms. I click
on one of them, launching the web site.
5) I right-click on the page, scroll down and select Send Link. This is
where Firefox crashes. "Firefox has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." This happens at every website
when I reach this point.

One thing I would like to stress: If I visit a website directly, and
right-click Send Link, there is no problem. Outlook Express launches as
usual, and the hyperlink is automatically inserted. It's only when I'm
visiting a website via Google's or Yahoo's Image search engines. I never
had this problem with my previous desktop PC, or any other computer I can
remember.

I have tried the steps below to resolve the issue, but none have
helped:

1) Uninstalled/reinstalled the Yahoo Images and Google Images search
engines for Firefox
2) Uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox
3) Cleaned out the FF cache and cookies
4) Launched FF in safe mode and then tried the Send Link option
5) Made Thunderbird my default email program
6) Created a new FF profile
7) Went into MSCONFIG, and removed checkmarks from all the programs listed,
and rebooted. Then launched FF and tried the Send Link feature
8) Used a Dell program called PC Restore to restore my system to the
factory default settings, essentially formatting the hard drive. After the
format, I went to Microsoft Updates and downloaded/installed all the
critical patches. Then I downloaded/installed Firefox to see if the problem
would happen again. To my great annoyance, it did. This last step
convinced me the glitch was caused by some software/hardware conflict on my
PC, and nothing that I did.
