Well, you can convert from the s-video out to composite (yellow round) on
your TV with something like this:
http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/svideo-rca.html
For $9.95, it is probably worth a try. I've used Ram before and they're
stuff is first rate.
That said, a 10 year old TV without s-video isn't going to be a great
monitor. It will function for playing recorded TV and be OK. It will even
do a halfway decent job for playing DVDs. It will not have a readable
display for anything Windows related.
All you do is plug it all together and reboot the machine WITH THE TV ON
(yes, I was shouting -- that part is important). Then go into display
properties and extend your desktop for the TV. For video to play best, the
TV MUST be the primary display.

O.K I think I've got all the info.
The pc has a video (round) socket on the back.
The TV does not have the s-video.
and not HDTV.
The TV is a JVC av-27730 from '96.
It has a video input & audio L/mono R
Audio output L R.
I don't know if this makes any sense .

I was wondering if I can plug my TV into the Dimension 5150.
If so how would I go about doing that or can someone suggest a web site
for this info.
Thanks
D.
Which video card?
Does the video card have an s-video out (round connector)
Does the TV have an s-video in?
Is it an HDTV?
If so, does it have VGA, DVI and/or HDMI inputs
Happy to help, just need more info
.
