I just did a clean install of XP Home on my niece and nephews Dimension 4500. Now that everything is "nice and clean" I want to do a backup image for when they eventually hose it again. I liked Tom Scale's post about True Image doing a hidden restore image with an F key restore, but I doubt their mother wants to spring for $30 to buy a copy. I know, I know...
Does the Free Trial do that too? And would it work after the Free Trial expires?
I did a Full C drive backup to a new 250GB D drive using Nero BackitUp that came with the new DVD burner, but it said there were system files in use. Not very confident it would do an OS restore when needed.
I will probably buy a copy of TI myself for my home network, but don't have $30 to spend every time I fix someone's computer.
Thanks, Pat
True Image is way under-priced for the time it WILL SAVE you. As back-up's go, you can't beat it. It saves your data AND your OS.
