So if you were in market NOW for a laptop would it def

Personally, I wouldn't buy a tablet now. Microsoft (for me) has a
hard sell, when the main program they promote is OneNote. The
propoganda machine has to really stretch with its silver bullet
this-will-improve-my-life marketing.

On many ads for tablet PCs, there is a Word document being revised by
someone who used digital ink to circle things and make annotations.
Big deal.

The interesting thing is that ink notes are no longer part (and don't
transfer from other apps) of appointment and task notes for Pocket PC
devices. In the pas, digital ink was an option. Now not only is it
not an option, but also the digital ink for the major Pocket PC PIMs
no longer transfers to Outlook.

(Standalone notes do still transfer as ink which is a nice feature)

I think ink notes will have a place in the future.
