Windows XP? On this vintage machine?
Could quite possibly NOT BE SUPPORTED. As my example stated, I chose
Windows 98, the what I thought to me the most likely operating system that
shipped with this machine. As it turns out, it shipped with Windows 95!
Why would you expect Dell to have an XP driver for an ancient machine? You
think it will run on a 366mhz machine with 128M? Will it even fit on a
6.4GB hard drive with a swap file?
How it the heck can you be mad at Dell!
Find the proper operating system, install it and you're a go.
If you must try XP (rolling on the floor laughing), did you bother to try
the Windows 2000 driver that IS on the website?
Also, it took me three minutes to find 11 hits on www.driverguide.com,
several of which commented that the W2K driver works on WXP.
I stand by my original post.

Tom,
Thanks for replying but you are WRONG (I'm replying here but the vile
is mainly for the others in this group). To all the lame cocksure
dell-philliacs in this group: maybe do some research first before you
spit out your insults that make you look even more stupid than you
allready are.
The service tag is VCKPC (as I allready mentioned)
Go to the support section (on www.dell.com) and type it in, select
Windows XP as OS and click 'Find downloads'.
You'll get this list:
Applications
Diagnostic Utilities
Display Devices
FlashBIOS Updates
IDE and EIDE
Input Device Drivers
Network Drivers
Printer Drivers
System and Configuration Utilities
Systems Management
Note how NONE OF THEM are called 'Video Drivers' and NONE OF THEM are
called 'Monitor Drivers'. There is only 'DISPLAY DEVICES' and given the
fact that in Windows XP Device Manager the 'video driver' is called
'DISPLAY ADAPTER' it is reasonable to assume I have to look in the
'Display Devices' list (especially since there are no others).
And YES I actually intitially thought that this looked like monitor
drivers but since there are no other drivers related to the display I
had to refer to this list.
Still think DELL has fantastic support? Why don't you all go jerk off
to a DELL add, and come back when you can tell me their TOLL tech
support number and where I can download a Display adapter driver for
this model.....
idiots.
