In the BIOS you can choose whether to see the POST messages. You, or someone who had access to your computer, chose to see the POST messages. If you want things to look the way they were, go back to the BIOS and change the setting.

I pushed the DEL on start up and got into the BIOS.

I changed "QUIET BOOT" from enabled to disabled and it made no
difference in the startup message.

It still said press DEL to continue.

So I put it back to ENABLED.
Any other ideas?

Since I bought this computer when I push the ON button the machine
starts and goes to a WINDOWS ME screen and then brings up the desk
top.

Two days ago I pushed the ON button and the screen came up with a Dell
Logo and said it found the key board and the Monitor ect.

At the bottom of the screen it says press the <DEL> key to proceed.
When I press the key the WINDOWS ME screen comes up and proceeds to
the desk top as usual.
What has happened to cause this and how do I fix it.
