Re: 15.4 screen

Hi Tom, you're right, a photo wouldn't accurately represent it.

Do you have the high capacity battery?

I wonder if Dell is going to replace the 600m with a similar but
updated model.

I would get the low-end XPS laptop, but it only has XGA resolution as
an option -- what's up with that!?!

I pop in here every 6 months or so -- it's good to see you continue to
help people out,

Kevin

Kevin,

No way would a digital photo accurately represent the screen, unfortunately.
Try to find a kiosk and look at one.

As for the battery, usually around 2-2 1/2 hours, but the only time I use it
is to play TV shows from the hard drive, which means constant and heavy disk
activity and the screen set on its brightest setting.

Hi Tom, could you take a picture and e-mail it to me?

One of the malls here had a kiosk for Dell computers. I hope it's
still there. If it is I may be able to check one out.

How long does your battery last? I would get the larger one.

Thanks

Kevin

I have two and they are very bright (typing on one right now on battery).
I'd guess you had a bad one.

My Inspiron 6000 screen was too dim. I sent it back.

I have the 15.4 wide screen on my Inspiron 6000 and love it. Great for

and TV viewing. Extra room on the sides for email, etc.

i wanted to get a Inspiron 2200 notebook with a 15'' screen, but they
don't
make that one any longer, now it's the B130 with the 15.4 screen. Are
there
any opinions on the difference in the two screens. I wonder if the
15.4
is
going to be tough to get used to, meaning a little wider and, I don't
know
if the height will be affected, giving a odd effect in viewing.
Just wondering if the viewing with the wider screen will be ok.

thanks,
geo
