Most of the stuff do I use. Saitek, Logitech and numerous other things as I use them daily.

Some are a bit overly dramatic and too quick to recommend the knife.

I have stopped a few things though and gotten rid of the O18 stuff.

Did you uninstall Logitech Desktop Messenger?

The problem is not the performance but the constant activity of the hard drive (noise and light). I am able to do my regular stuff with no crashes or slow down.

Indexing Service comes to mind, as does the potential benefit of running
FileMon in an attempt to identify exactly what is accessing the drive.
