Re: Can Dimension 4100 run XP?

Can this Dell run XP as is or with upgrade? Is it worth upgrading?
Thanks!
Yeah, XP is runnable, but I highly recommend having at least 256MB of
RAM (ideally 512MB). My previous laptop was a PIII-M 800MHz with 256MB
of RAM and it ran XP without a problem. As to whether it's worth an
upgrade depends on how you are going to use the machine. For just word
processing, web browsing, reading email, etc. then I'd say keep your
current hardware (though going to XP is probably worth it). If you plan
to do photo editing, compiling, playing 3D video games, etc. then you
pretty much will need to upgrade the hardware.
