I don't know if you can specify the port with it, but I've found
Calypso to be an outstanding mail client program. It was originally
created by Micro Computer Systems, Inc., but was released by them as
Freeware a few years back.
Rose City Software has been hosting Calypso for some time now, and
they have also developed a newer version, called 'Courier 3.5,' which is
also freely available. It is reported to have much the same user
interface as Calypso, though I've not tried it as yet, plus a number of
other useful features for dealing with senders of HTML E-mail.

I grew disillusioned with Eudora about seven years ago, after its
owners started building it into a bloated monster that Microsoft
themselves would have been proud of.
